It’s that time of year where Realtors meet with their political representatives to advocate for private property rights across the United States. According to political consultant, Chip Ahlswede, there could be as many 1000 bills that involve some aspect of home ownership and could ultimately cost homeowners and REALTOR members billions of dollars if the issues were not brought to the table in a meaningful way (just as if they could when visiting the Capitol).

Since everyone and their Mom is now using Zoom or another tool for videoconferencing meetings, it is still the wild wild west when it comes to making them productive. Participants don’t join on time, don’t respect their audio or camera settings, or worse – sabotage the meeting by jumping in where they shouldn’t.

If there are important tax bills, relief bills, and the like, would you take a chance by trying to host a virtual meeting with your congressmen or congresswoman who will vote on your behalf? We are not just talking about saving face there. We are talking about saving lives.

Listen to this recorded interview as we discuss the brutal reality of what real estate organizations are facing right now.

When you hear about Zoom bombing, it makes you wonder if you should postpone progress until next year. The good news is you don’t have to take a chance with a little preparation on choosing the right equipment/tools, creating the best process for starting meetings on time, developing a policy to reinforce the process, and deliver the training on the policy you have created, not just the tools.

Implicit vs Explicit Policies

Real estate groups will either learn the easy way or the hard way.

The hard way is trying to do it the first time without having any help. I tried racing in an Ironman 703. without a coach and almost drowned in the ocean off the Panama City Beach coast. I wanted to save the money. I figured I could learn as I go. And I thought that the worse that would happen would be a little injury. Boy was I wrong.

Please don’t make the same mistake. Schedule meeting with me right now.
