My second visit to the Greater Tampa Association of REALTORS was a hoot. They have a amazing supporting staff, extraordinary volunteer leaders, and always fill the room with eager minds ready to implement the latest technology.
The morning started off working with the staff. We discussed some of the ideas of the book “Open Leadership” on how the Greater Tampa Association of REALTORS can begin collaborating on creating content to help members make good decisions using a variety of media being video, pictures, online articles, and PowerPoint. Also we examined the website and how to make it more social media friendly by adding icons to the participating sites, an interactive Google Map, and how to create videos of frequently asked questions that members may have.

In the afternoon I presented to the Professional Development Annual Meeting the “Do’s and Don’ts of Using Social Media”. This simple approach will help you understand some of the common mistakes new people to social media will make and how to use it effectively.
Finally, in the late afternoon we had one more presentation “Risk Management Using Social Metrics”. This presentation geared towards brokers helped identify how to track multiple agent social media activity, discussed the potential liability, and at least what to look for when agents participate online to keep your company out of court.
